1967 Dodge Dart — Project Rescue

A stalled 1967 Dodge Dart came to us from Alberta. It was stripped to a shell: roll cage in place, but no floors, no firewall, no brakes, no steering, and not a pane of glass. The upside — it arrived packed to the roof with parts from the abandoned build. Sorting through all of it was the first job.

We had a Chevy big block and Turbo 400 on the shelf from a previous build. It was proven, it was paid for, and it was sitting right there. The Dart's engine bay was never designed for a Chevrolet, so it took custom-fabricated mounts and some header work to make it fit. We knew dropping a Chevy into a Dodge would get people talking. It did.

Once it was mechanically sorted, we painted it flat black with clear-coated stripes across the rear. The roll cage stayed. It left the shop as a running, driving project.

The Chevy-in-a-Dodge move stirred up plenty of comment, and the car found a new home within two days. Sometimes a build that gets people arguing is the one they remember.
